Kathryn Barnier has been working in documentary productions for over 20 years. Her latest film, Banished: How Whites Drove Blacks Out of Town in America, has been seen shown at various film festivals including Sundance, The Pan African Film Festival, True/False, Miami International Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize, Full Frame, Silver Docs, Nashville Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival, Sundance at BAM, and Human Rights Watch Film Festival in 2007. Her other editing credits include Out of Status, The Mystery of Love and The Search For Solutions.

Seema Goyal
Seema Goyal joined the Institute for Studies in Industrial Development as full time faculty member in March 2001. Having earned Master of Arts in Economics from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi and the terminal degree, Master of Fine Arts in Film and Electronic Media, from American University, Washington D.C. She has extensive experience in India as well as the United States in both teaching and media production. Ms Goyal has produced and directed several productions for various television channels on topics related to history, economics and current affairs. She has also been associated with the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi, as a visiting faculty in the Advertising and Public Relations Division for almost nine years, and has worked as an adjunct as well as full time faculty member in the Visual Media Division of the School of Communication, American University, Washington D.C. Currently, she is an Associate Professor in-charge of multimedia at the Institute.

Brigid Maher
Brigid Maher is an assistant professor and head of the New Media concentration in the Film and Media Arts Division of the School of Communication at American University. Her scholarly writing focuses on the interplay between traditional film and new media theories. Maher is also an award winning filmmaker and works both in narrative and documentary. Her films have shown in filmf estivals in the U.S. and abroad. Her latest documentary, Veiled Voices, focuses on the phenomenon of Muslm women religious leaders in Islam. She was awarded a Fulbright Senior Award to teach Broadcast Media in Lebanon in spring 2005.

S. Mitra Kalita is an award-winning journalist and author. Her highly acclaimed "Suburban Sahibs: Three Immigrant Families and Their Passage From India to America" (Rutgers University Press, Penguin India) dissected how immigrants have transformed suburbia. She has worked as a reporter at the Washington Post, Newsday and the Associated Press. She spent two years as an editor and columnist at Mint, a business newspaper in New Delhi she helped launch. Starting in January 2009, she will serve as the Wall Street Journal's deputy global economics editor. She is the past president of the South Asian Journalist Association. She is married to artist Nitin Mukul and they have one daughter, Naya.
